Talking Heads - 77 - 1977 - It is weird, I used to really like the Talking Heads, now I find them kind of annoying.  This album I still like.  It's simple, the songs are pretty good.  The Book I Read and Psycho Killer are nice.

Talking Heads - Demos - 1977 - This has demo versions of songs that would end up on '77 like Psycho Killer  and a few others.  They are pretty rough versions and are pretty interesting.

Talking Heads - More Songs About Buildings and Food - 1978 - Maybe it is all the Eno stuff on these.  The sound seems to be covered with all sorts of muck.  This one had the hit Take Me to the River.

Talking Heads - Electricity - Live 1979 - A live concert mostly featuring material from More Songs.  If is ok.

Talking Heads -Fear of Music - 1979 - A few things pop out of the murk for me here like Air, Heaven and Life During Wartime.

Talking Heads - Remain in Light -  1980 - Once in a Lifetime is kind of amusing (mainly because of the video), but this is too much for me.

Talking Heads - Speaking in Tongues - 1983 - This one had the big hits Burning Down the House and This Must be the Place.

Talking Heads - Little Creatures - 1985 - Well, at least the songs have gotten a little simpler again.  It has the big songs Road To Nowhere and And She Was but there is not much more than that here for me.

  Talk Talk - The Very Best of Talk Talk - Natural History - 1990 - An ok compilation covering the career of the ok band Talk Talk.  Besides the hits Talk Talk, Dum Dum Girl, and It's My Life, there isn't a lot here.

Tall Dwarfs - Slugbucket Hairybreath Monster EP - 1984 - This is from New Zealand's Flying Nun records.  You usually can't go wrong buying something on Flying Nun.  This really intriguing sounding stuff.  Buzzy guitar and rhythmic tape loops.  pretty nice stuff.

Modeste Tchaikovksy - Symphony No. 6 "Pathétique" - Pierre Monteux - Boston Symphony Orchestra -1964 -

Modeste Tchaikovsky - Favorite Ballets, Overtures & Fantasias of - One of those box sets that sells for a few bucks that you just can't resist.  All the classic ballet stuff like the Nutcracker Suite and the 1812 Overture.  Five records in total.

The Teardrop Explodes - Kilimanjaro- 1980 - Julian Cope was an early member of Echo and the Bunnymen.  Here with his band, he is a little more childlike and uses more synthesizers.  Poppies in the Field is quite nice.  There is also a version of the Echo song he co-wrote, Read it in Books. TPRG

 The Teardrop Explodes - You Disappear From View/Suffocate Single - 1983 - Towards the end of their career before Julian Cope went solo.  Not bad couple of songs.

The Tee Set - Ma Belle Amie Single - 1970 - Single from the 70s.  Can't remember it, I will update this after I listen to it.

Teenage Jesus and the Jerks - Teenage Jesus and the Jerks EP - 1979 - Lots of noise here.  Lydia Lunch's first band and she screams through six songs here like Orphans.  I still don't know if I like it or not. TP|TP|A Reasonable guide to Horrible Noise

Teenage Jesus and the Jerks - Everything - I was excited about finding this in a cutout bin for a few bucks.  The first ep and everything else they ever did.

Television - The Blow Up - 1982 - This was a new wave band with a couple of guitar heros, Richard Lloyd and Tom Verlaine, and Richard Hell on bass.  This is a live tape with long jams and solos.  Also, versions of their big songs See No Evil and Little Johnny Jewel. TP

Television Personalities - They Could Have Been Bigger Than the Beatles - 1982 - Psychedelic 60s pop kind of like The Beatles and Syd Barrett.  Really cool stuff.

Television Personalities - How I Learned to Love the Bomb/Grocer's Daughter/Girl Called Charity Single - 1986 - More songs from the 60s pop/psychedilica revival group.

The Temptations - Ball of Confusion (That's What the World Is Today)/Don't Let the Joneses Get You Down Single - 1970 - Couple of classic songs from this 70s soul band.

Alfred Tennyson - Poetry of Tennyson - This is some of the poetry of Tennyson like The Lady of Shalott and Ulysses.  It is pretty nice.

  Ten Tall Men - This is a three songs thing that I taped that I have no idea what it sounds like.  I will revise this after I listen to it.

10,000 Maniacs - Secrets of the I Ching - 1983 - Natalie Merchants's first band who give her a reggae, folk pop backing.  Pretty pleasant.

10,000 Maniacs - The Wishing Chair - 1985 - Much better sound and the songs are a little better here.

10,000 Maniacs - Hope Chest - The Fredonia Recordings 1982-1983 - 1990 - A reissue of their first two releases, the Human Conflict Number Five Ep and Secrets of the I Ching. Of all of this, I only really like Planned Obsolescence. The rest is a little too mellow for me.

The Tesco Vee Experience - Twisted Road/The American In Me Single - 1987(?) - The former singer of The Meatmen teams up with Penelope Houston from the Avengers (who does everything here except the vocals) to put together a cool single of the classic Avengers' song.

The Texas Instruments - ¡More Texas Instruments! - 1985 - A pretty nice four song set of country punk from Texas.

The Texas Instruments - The Thing in Apartment B/Good Times In Rhythm Single - 1986 - A little bit of country kind of punk.  Also features a short phone message from an attorney from Texas Instruments threatening them for using the name.

The The - Soul Mining - 1984 - Some classic older pop, new wave tunes. This includes stuff like This Is The Day and Uncertain Smile. Brings back memories.

Them - The Collection - 1986 - Best of collection featuring all the classic songs form Them and Van Morrison.  You got Gloria, Mystic Eyes and a lot more.

They Might Be Giants - Flood - 1990 - TMBG make pretty silly and cool songs with guitar, accordian, and drum machine.  This one has cool songs like Birdhouse In Your Soul, Particle Man, and a cover of The Four Lads' Istanbul (Not Constantinople) (I have the original on a 50s compilation.)  Pretty cool album.

They Might Be Giants - Apollo 18 - 1992 - This one isn't as good.  The songs are not as inspired and nothing really jumps out of this one.

The Third Rain - Run, Run, Run/No Return Single - A cute little pop song from the 60s about trying to get to work on time.

This Mortal Coil - It'll End In Tears - 1984 - Kind of a 4AD supergroup featuring members from Cocteau Twins, Dead Can Dance, Xmal Deutschland and more.  The songs are very atmospheric with lots of covers of people like Alex Chilton and Tim Buckley.

This Mortal Coil - Filigree & Shadow - 1986 - A double album with more of the same atmospheric from the 4AD crowd.  The material is not as good as the previous one.

David Thomas and the Pedestrians - More Places Forever - 1985 - This is a pretty good continuation of the later Pere Ubu stuff.

David Thomas and the Wooden Birds - Monster Walks the Winter Lake - 1985 - This one is really wild.  The lyrics are really out there, with a monster theme coming up in most of them.  The title song is really cool.

David Thomas and the Wooden Birds - Blame the Messenger - 1987 - David Thomas is the very distinctive voice from Pere Ubu.  The band here is many of the same people from Pere Ubu and it sounds a lot like early Pere Ubu.  Really good album.

Dylan Thomas - Dylan Thomas Reading A Child's Christmas in Wales and Five Other Poems - He reads all his classic poems like Fern Hill and Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night.

Thor - Unchained EP - 1983 - This is a screamingly funny really horrible metal album.  I found it in a dollar bin.  There is nothing better than bad metal bands singing about Norse mythology.  I wonder if they have trouble playing their instruments with all that leather and chains.  In college I used to put this on and we would all march around singing When Gods Collide.  A proud product of Mongol Horde records.

Thor - Only the Strong - 1985 - This must be the semi major independent label debut (they made it to Enigma).  It sounds like they got a little more cash to spend on production and it is pressed on some nice looking red vinyl.  Lot more songs about Norse gods.  They redo When Gods Collide here, but the magic just isn't there.

The Three Johns - Do the Square Thing/Kinkybeat/The World of the Workers 12" Single - 1984 - Three pretty cool songs of drum machine dance punk rock.

The Three Johns - The World By Storm - 1986 - This is a better batch of songs.  It is a pretty decent album.

The Three Johns - Live In Chicago - 1986 - This is a really good live show with a lot of their best songs like The Devil's Music, AWOL and The World of the Workers.

The Three O' Clock - Befour the Three O' Clock (sic) - 1982 - This one was originally released under the name Salvation Army (before they got sued and had to change it).  Lots of really cool trippy songs heavily influenced by 60s psychedelica.  Great songs like She Turns to Flowers and While We Were In Your Room Talking To Your Wall.

The Three O' Clock - Baroque Hoedown EP - 1982 - Five more great trippy songs like With a Cantaloupe Girlfriend and I Go Wild.  They do a cool cover of the Easybeats' Sorry.

The Three O' Clock - Sixteen Tambourines - 1983 - The songs are a little less druggy here and more pop.  A bit of a let down for me.  Jet Fighter is really cool.

The Three O' Clock - Arrive Without Travelling - 1985 - A little more accessible here.  Her Head is Revolving is quite a rocking song.  Most of the songs here are really good.  I named my cat after the song Simon in the Park.

The Three O' Clock - Ever After - 1986 - This one is really disappointing.  Their guitar player left before this one and he is really missed.  Not much that stands out from this one.

Throbbing Gristle - D.O.A. - The Third and Final Report of Throbbing Gristle - 1979 - Pretty much the first industrial band out there.  Lots of electronic noises, tape loops, and other weird instrumentation.  Pretty interesting stuff.

Throwing Muses - Throwing Muses - 1986 - It is on 4AD, but this is not the standard 4AD sound.  This is American melodic guitar rock.  This a really great set of songs with all sort of styles thrown in.  This group has since spawned The Breeders, Belly and now Tanya Donelly's solo career.

The Tokens - The Lion Sleeps Tonight/B'wa Nina Single - 1961 - The classic a cappella song from the 60s.

Tom Racer - From The Album "The Secret's Out" In Stores 8/18/98 - A little cassette sampler thing that was free at a record store.  It is ok ska stuff.

Tones On Tail - The Album Pop - 1984 - From Bauhaus alumni.  This has the really cool song Twist.  Mostly this is pretty decent.

Tool - Opiate - 1992 - Their first release. It isn't as good as their later stuff, but it is a good start.

Tool - Undertow - 1993 - This is a really great album.  I just love the feedback part of Sober.  All of this rocks pretty hard.  The hidden track at the end is very strange.

Toots and the Maytals - Not sure when this is from but is has some cool stuff that I have heard by ska bands like Monkey Man and Pressure Drop.  Kind of interesting to hear the originals.

Pete Townsend - Scoop - 1983  - This is a double album of different versions of Who songs (like Squeeze Box, Quadrophenia and Magic Bus), and some of his solo stuff.  It makes pretty interesting listening.

Translator - Heartbeats and Triggers - 1982 - This San Francisco band was supposed to make it really big.  This is a pretty good album of melodic pop with a little folk thrown in.  Everywhere That I'm Not is really good.

Translator - No Time Like Now - 1983 - Not as good as the first one.  Un-Alone is pretty good though.

The Trashmen - Surfin' Bird Single - 1964 - This is the original classic gibberish, trash garage song.  Perhaps the main inspiration for the Ramones.

Traveling Wilburys - Vol 1 - 1988 - The supergroup consisting of Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Tom Petty, Roy Orbinson, and some guy from ELO.  This is pretty nice stuff with stuff like Handle With Care and End of the Line.

Traveling Wilburys - Vol 3 - 1990 - More of the supergroup.  Not as much that was a hit here, but fairly pleasant.

Treble King - Treble King - 1988 - This is Mark Brooks from Warlock Pinchers and Foreskin 500 with tapes, synths, noises and other stuff and makes pretty interesting almost industrial synth stuff.

T-Rex - Telegram Sam 7" EP - 1976 - Hard rock stuff from Marc Bolan.  Four songs.  The main reason I bought this is because Bauhaus does a pretty cool cover of Telegram Sam.  It is kind of weird to hear it played really slow here.

The Triffids - Wide Open Road/Time of Weakness Single - 1986 - A pretty cool band from Australia.  Not really country, not really blues.  Some steel guitar.

The Triffids - In the Pines - 1986 - This is a really cool album.  They are a mix of country-blues with a dose of punk thrown in.  This one was recorded in a sheep sheering shed way out in the outback.  There is a breakdown of the budget and a great deal of it went for beer.  It has a real live feel to it.  Kathy Knows is a real slow bluesy sort of dirge and it is one of my favorite songs of all time.  Of course, it wouldn't be complete without a run at In the Pines (you might remember this as Where Did You Sleep Last Night, which both Hole and Nirvana have covered.)

Trio - Trio and Error - 1983 - An extremely minimalist band, with only one drum, one guitar and one singer.  The songs are very sparse and pretty cute.  Anna - LetMeInLetMeOut is the big song here.  They have experienced a little popularity lately since the song Da Da Da was used in a commercial.

The Troggs - Wild Thing/From Home Single - 1966 - The 60s song that everybody has heard.

The Troggs - Give It To Me/You're Lying Single - 1967 - They had a little more in them than just Wild Thing.  Some pretty decent garage stuff.  Great fuzztone stuff especially on You're Lying.

John Trubee - Blind Man's Penis/Call To A Motel Single - 1986 - A really funny little single.  It came about by his sending the worst lyrics he could think of to one of those make millions off your song ads in the back of a magazine.  Insane lyrics like "Warts loved my nipples because they are pink/Vomit on me, baby/Yeah, Yeah, Yeah" came back set to a generic country music backing track.  The b-side is a prank call like the Jerky Boys make, but a little more twisted.

T.S.O.L. - Dance With Me - 1981 - The name stands for True Sounds of Liberty.  They started as a political hardcore band.  Here, they have moved to a gothic horror band.  Whatever the subject, this rocks all the way through, like Sounds of Laughter and Code Blue.

T.S.O.L. - Change Today? - 1983 - The sound has changed, dropping the horror, going back to punk and adding a little country and western feel.  It is pretty good stuff, but nowhere near as good as the earlier ones.

The Truth - Playground - 1985 - Kind of an updating of 60s soul.  Didn't leave a very big impression when I listened to it last.

Tubes - The Completion Backward Principle - 1980 - Wow, new wave.  This has Talk to You Later and Sushi Girl.

Turbines - Can't remember what this four song EP sounds like.  I will update this later.

The Turncoats - One Breath/What's So Funny Single - Just found this on a tape.  I can't remember what it sounds like.  I will let you know.

Tuxedo Moon - Desire - 1981 - They play electronic, jazzy kind of strange stuff.  They are label mates on Ralph with The Residents.  Not as good as some other things I have heard by them.  Jinx is pretty good.

28th Day - No idea when or where this is from.  I don't really remember what it sounds like.  Update later.

Two Nice Girls - Chloe Liked Olivia - 1991 -
                                Like A Version EP - 1990 - These are Lindsey's.  Haven't heard them that much.
