It's time to cruise the summer news, 
from both far and nee-ar.

No one escapes 
those Fuhrman tapes, they burn your ear.

The Citadel, 
a week of hell, poor Shannon said "I can't."
Still life's "divine"... just ask Hugh Grant.

Waco was back, and Al took a crack 
at the Whitewater crew.

Japan's surprise? They apologize, 
for World War II. 

The famous head of the Grateful Dead
left us for Rock 'N' Roll heaven...
and baseball wept for Yankee number seven. 

Try some onion dip with Bill's "V-Chip,"
but kids doncha smoke.

A minute-and-a-half ?!? Hey, you had to laugh,
at Mike Tyson's joke.

And finally at ABC the biggest news in-house,
we're working now, for Mickey Mouse.

That's the summer news. 
Cuckoo summer news.

(spoken) Lock up the cabana, baby... It's over!
