The following companies are those I’ve worked with that are still happily producing whatever it is they produce:
- WebDialogs Inc. (makers of telephony and collaboration solutions, including WebInteract, WebIntermeet, WebIntertalk, and WebInterpoint. The buttons on my home page that you can click to call me use WebDialogs' technology.)
- Shiva Corporation (makers of remote access hardware and software for Mac OS and Windows, including the NetModem, LanRover, LanRover Access Switch, and AccessPort. Although technically still in existence, Shiva was owned by Intel Corporation, and has now spun off as its own company again, virtually unrelated to the company with which I worked.)
- NewsEdge, Inc. (makers of news retrieval software for MacOS, Windows, Web, UNIX, and so on that makes it easier to wade through the flood of information in the world around us. Formerly Desktop Data, Inc. before their merger with another firm.)
- JVC Information Products (makers of the Personal RomMaker line of CD-ROM writers for MacOS, Windows, DOS, and UNIX)
- Rodriguez Systems, Inc. (still in existence, but the data retrieval and analysis program I documented never seems to have shipped. Also, they have no web site. Samples are available, however.)
- Sageline Publishing (an HTML/WinHelp development firm for whom I have subcontracted on help development and other interesting tasks)
