I was born in the small town of Healdton, Oklahoma.
My father immigrated to this area from
Jdaydah, Marjayroun, Lebanon. The parents of my mother came to Oklahoma
as well from the same region in Lebanon. My father had very little formal
education, yet he raised 5 children and sent them all to college. I met my
husband,
John Romano,
an Italo-American from New York City, at DePauw University, where
he taught in the Classics Department and I taught French. Known as the
"Roamin' Romanos", we have worked and lived in Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky,
California, and have spent ten years abroad
in Lyon, France, and Rome, Italy. We have two children, Danielle, who has
a degree in French from Smith College, who is married to Gene
Parrill, and
Jean-Luc,
who graduated from the Colorado School of Mines in Computer Science in May
1998 and received his Master's Degree from Colorado State University in
2002.

My interests are French and horses.
My hobby is riding English style,
in particular, on these two lovable grey Arabian horses.
