month of November in the year of Our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety two.
Before the undersigned Public Notary duly admitted and sworn in and for that
part of the Dominion of Canada heretofore called Lower Canada, now constitu-
ting the Province of Quebec, residing in the parish of St. Ferdinand d'Halifax
in the district of Arthabaska.
PERSONALLY CAME AND APPEARED Mr Grant Brown, far-
mer of the Township of Ireland, acting herein
as teh Attorney of Jennie Thom, wife of Charles
Brown, of Willow deal, so appointed attorney in
????? of a power of Attorney under private
seal, dated on the first day of November in????
and signed vy the said Constituents in presence of wit-
nesses, which power of attorney remained annexed
to the Original of these presents, after the same *
did and doth hereby voluntarily bargain, sell, assign, transfer and make
over, with promise of warranty against all troubles and mortgages whatsoever,
unto Madame Edith Emily Briggs, of the Town-
ship of Ireland, wife of Mr James Thom,
farmer, of the same Township of Ireland,
by her said husband, to this present, duly
authorized for the execution hereof, The said
lady, under the said aithorization
hereunto present and accepting for herself her heirs and assigns that is to say:
The one undivided eighteenth part in the
ot of land number two hundred ans
eventy (270) of the official cadastre
of The Township of Ireland and also
all of the share of the said Madame
Charles Brown, in the estate of her late
father James Thom, and of her late sister
Margaret deceased ab intestat and ??-
thout issue,

As the whole now and belongs to the said constituent
as above said,
Subject by the said purchaser to all the obligations, reserves, and restrictions
mentioned in the Letters Patent concerning the said lot of land, and also to pay
all municipal dues and duties for the future only clear of all arrears, concerning
the property hereabove sold
And finally the present sale is made for and in consideration of the price
and sum of fifty dollars, which said sum
the said Attorney acknoledges to have
had and received from the said pur-
chaser before the due execution of
these presents and at his own satisfac-
tion, dons quittance généralle et fi-
nalle,

And the said vendor*does hereby divest to and in favour of the said pur-
chaser of alltheir rights of propery**and other rights whatever in and upon the
said property**and put and subrogate her in alltheir lieu and stead**to that effect.

Know ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, that I Jennie Thom,
wife of Charles Brown, duly authorized herewith
of Willow-deal in the County of Grafton
in the State of New Hampshire one of the United States of
America, do hereby appoint and constitute Grant Brown, my brother
in law of the Township of Ireland,
in the Province of Quebec, to be my true and lawful attorney for the purposes
following, that is to say : in my name and stead.
1o. To enter into and upon and to take possession of all my property real
and personal and managed the same and all my affairs in quality of mandatory
omnium bonorum.
2o. To bargain, sell, mortgage, hypothecate, dispose of, convey, and to take,
do and execute all necessary steps, acts and deeds for completing the sale of,
and conveying to the purchaser of purchasers thereof, with warranty against
all troubles and encumbances and as free and clear of all debts and mortgages
whatsoever, to such person or persons, for such price, amount or consideration
and on such terms and conditions as to my said attorney shall seem meet, all
my said property real and personal or any part thereofm and specially
my one undivided
eightieth part in the lot of land number
two hundred and seventy (270) of the
official cadastre of the township of
Ireland, circumstances and dependances.
and also all my share in the estate
of my late father James Thom, and
my late sister Margaret, deceased ab
instestate and without issue,

3o. To receive and give receipts, releases and discharges for the price and
consideration monies of such sales or any part thereof, as well as all other sum
of sums of money which new are or hereafter may become due unto me under
any title or titles whatever.
Such sale to take place for and in the
name of Edith Emily Briggs, wife of
James Thom junior, of the township of
Ireland, in the district of Arthabaska,
in the province of Quebec, Canada, for
the price and sum of fifty dollars
to be paid in the hands of my said
attorney at the passation of such deed
of sale
5o. To appoint, place and constitute for the purposes aforesaid or any of
them, from time to time and again at pleasure to displace and destitute all at-
torneys or substitutes under him or in the place of him.
6o. To the effect hereof sign and execute all such deeds, instruments and
writings as shall or may be necessary.
7o. And generally to act for me as my attorneys in the premises with full
power for all or any of the purposes aforesaid. And I hereby ratify and conform
whatsoever my said attorney or his substitute for the time being may lawfully
do in the premises.
