ON THIS twenty sixth day of the
month of August in the year
of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty seven,
Before the undersigned Public Notary duly admitted and sworn in and for that
part of the Dominion of Canada heretofore called Lower Canada, now constitu-
ting the Province of Quebec, residing in the parish of St. Ferdinand d'Halifax
in the district of Arthabaska.
PERSONALLY CAME AND APPEARED Madame Lavina
Brown, wife of Elwin L. Hopkins, printer,
of the City of Boston in the Date of Massa-
chussetts, one of the United States of America,
the said Hopkins to this present authorizing his
said wife for the effect hereof, which said
???, under the said authorization
did and doth hereby voluntarily bargain, sell, assign, transfer and make
over, with promise of warranty against all troubles and mortgages whatsoever,
unto Mr Charles Brown, their brother and
brother in law, farmer of the Township
of Ireland, said district of Arthabaska,
hereunto present and accepting for himself his heirs and assigns that is to say:
all her share moveable and immovea-
ble that she has or may have or be
intitle* the estate of her mother,
Marthe Thurber, in her life time of the
said Twonship of Ireland, first wife of
Bartholomew Brown, farmer of the
said township of Ireland, which said Mar-
tha Thurber died ab intestat

As the whole is now and belongs to the said vendress as being
one of the children issued of the marria-
ge between the said Bartholomew Brown
and the said Martha Thurber
Subject by the said purchaser to all the obligations, reserves and restrictions
mentioned in the Letters Patent concerning the lands* and also to pay all municipal dies and duties concerning
the properties forming part of the said estate

And finally the present sale is made for and in consideration of the price
and sum of fifty dollars, ????? said sum
the said lady vendress, under the said
authorization, acknoledges to have had
and received from the said purchaser
