Math Busters offers classes and/or support to teachers and students who are afraid of mathematics. I believe the reason many people do not like math is because they do not understand it. No one likes anything they are not good at. My convictions resonate with study results that have shown one contributing factor to students’ underachievement in mathematics is that many of their teachers, particularly elementary teachers, are afraid of mathematics and/or do not understand the concepts well enough to teach them to the students.

My goal is to help students and teachers realize that math is not as scary as it seems and is fun once one understands it. I believe all are capable of understanding all mathematical concepts through algebra. I offer training to struggling teachers and help them learn/teach any mathematical concepts they do not understand. I will also offer review and preview classes for students to help them prepare for the upcoming school year. If personal attention is needed, then private tutoring may be necessary – see below.
