Q: When someone fingers my address at Nyx, it says that I have no
   Plan, even though I have a file called .plan in my home directory.

A: Your plan must be able to be accessed by the finger daemon in order
   for it to show up when someone fingers you.  This means that it must
   itself be globally readable, and it must also be in a readable
   directory.  To make your directory readable, from the top menu select
   u, a and ch.  The protection should be 711, and the file name is ~ (tilde).
   Be aware that this may make your other files accessible to others.
   You can protect files individually by using the same menu selection
   and using 600 for the protection and typing the desired file name (use
   700 instead of 600 if the file is a program or a directory, rather
   than a text file).  Finally, make sure your .plan file is unprotected
   by using the ch menu option with protection 644.
