Lyrics for my Dead teen song webpage.
Gloomy Sunday (Billie Holliday) Sunday is gloomy, my hours are slumberless. Dearest the shadows I live with numberless. Little white flowers will never awaken you. Not where the black coach of sorrow has taken you. Gloomy Sunday
Give Us Your Blessings - The Shangri-las Run, run, run, Mary, run, run, run, Jimmy, run, run, run, Mary, run, run, run, Mary and Jimmy were both very young But as much in love As two people could be And all they wanted Was to share that love eternally They went to their folks they told them That someday soon they'd be wed Their folks just laughed And called them kids So Mary said Give us your blessing Please don't make us Run away Give us your blessing Say you'll be there on our wedding day They wouldn't have laughed at Mary If they could have seen through the door But Jimmy was waiting in the car While Mary begged once more Give us your blessing Please don't make us Run away Give us your blessing Say you'll be there on our wedding day Well as they drove off they were crying And nobody knows for sure That, that's why they didn't see the sign That read detour The next day they found them Mary and Jimmy were dead And as their folks Knelt beside them in the rain They couldn't help but hear The last words that Mary and Jimmy had said Give us your blessing Please don't make us Run away Give us your blessing Say you'll be there on our wedding day Run, run, run, Mary, run, run, run, Jimmy, run, run, run, Mary, run, run, run,
Goodbye Earl - by Dixie Chicks Mary anne and wanda were the best of friends All through their high school days Both members of the 4h club Both active in the ffa After graduation mary anne went out lookin' For a bright new world Wanda looked all around this town And all she found was earl Well it wasn't two weeks After she got married that Wanda started gettin' abused She put on dark glasses and long sleeved blouses And make-up to cover a bruise Well she finally got the nerve to file for divorce She let the law take it from there But earl walked right through that restraining order And put her in intensive care Right away mary anne flew in from Atlanta On a red eye midnight flight She held wanda's hand as they Worked out a plan And it didn't take long to decided That earl had to die Goodbye earl Those black-eyed peas They tasted all right to me earl You're feeling weak Why don't you lay down And sleep earl Ain't it dark Wrapped up in that tarp earl The cops came to bring earl in They searched the house High and low Then they tipped their hats And said 'thank you ladies If you hear from him let us know' Well the weeks went by and Spring turned to summer And summer faded into fall And it turns out he was a missing person Who nobody missed al all So the girls bought some land And a roadside stand Out on highway 109 They sell tennessee ham And strawberry jame And they don't Lose any sleep at night 'cause Earl had to die Goodbye earl We need a break Let's go out to the lake earl We'll pack a lunch And stuff you in the trunk earl Well is that all right Good let's go for a ride Earl hey
R. Dean Taylor - Gotta See Jane Red light, green light, speedin' trough the dark night, drivin' trough the poundin' rain I gotta see Jane Windshield wiper splashin', splashin', callin' out her name Just gotta see Jane I left her arms to find my way To find a place for me in the world outside I wasn't alive, I could not survive The frantic pace, the constant chase to win the race, turned my heart cold inside I gotta find what I left behind Red light, green light, speedin' through the dark night, drivin' through the poundin' rain, I gotta see Jane Freeway, byway, tearin' up the highway, runnin' up a world insane Just gotta see Jane A town of steel that isn't real it could not feel what's in the heart of me I was so alone in a world of stone I missed her arms, that once held me that made me see, I was the lonely one But now and then I was runnin' scared and I could feel the touch of time Turnin' the wheel of life to yesterday When love and happiness were mine I gotta find that world of Jane and me Liked it used to be Oh, I gotta see Jane Her love for me I pushed aside walked out alone to face a world turned cold Although I tried I could not survive The frantic pace, the constant chase to win the race, it's not a part of me I've gotta find what I left behind Oh, I gotta see Jane, I gotta see Jane
Days Of Graduation - by Drive-By Truckers Bobby went out for a joy ride with my best girl Left me at the party, He was my best friend and I miss him. It was almost June and the ¾ moon illuminated the rain-soaked streets like a candy wrapper. I guess that's why Bobby had his lights off, Tear-assing threw the back part of town and those deserted country roads where me and Bobby tear-assed so many times before. Sometimes with my best girl and sometimes Bobby had him one too. But this night he banked that curve just a little too hard and that 442 went airborne, Hit a telephone pole and split in two, Bobby's skull was split right in two, And my girl was pinned in her seat, partially embedded in the dashboard And for the next twenty minutes the only sound in the night were her screams. And the sound of the wheel still spinning. In a little while the ambulance came and the sound of its siren mixed with the screaming girl and the spinning wheel. But when the story was told the next day at the graduation ceremony, Everyone said that when the ambulance came The paramedics could hear "Free Bird" still playing on the stereo. You know it's a very long song
Tony Casanova - The Grave Why did the lord up above Have to take the one I love? I never thought I'd see the day I'd see her face, down in the grave Now she's dead, my future wife Now I'll be lonely for the rest of my life I never thought I'd see the day I'd see her face, down in the grave Maybe if I pray Every day Lord can't you see She was meant for me If that's the way you want it to be That's the way it has to be I never thought I'd see the day I'd see her face, down in the grave Maybe if I pray Every day Lord can't you see She was meant for me If that's the way you want it to be That's the way it has to be I never thought I'd see the day I'd see her face, down in the grave
